This serious of photos are about a kind of folk portraits that
have survived in a remote mountain areas in the Guanzhong
Plain in Shanxi Province of China. These portraits, which
originated from a widespread ancient story of China ,
depict thirteen imaginary ways to punish evil people. This
type of makeup done in a heavily-guarded room is dying
out in China . A few hours later, those bad people who have
been ''executed'' will walk on the street.
