M'Cormick in a type written note dated September 1949 verso: "We invited him to paint a picture of "Christ and Labour" and he gave us this rough sketch as a sample" 15.5" x 19.5" - 39.4 x 49.5 cm. Provenance: Rev. J.M. M'Cormick, acquired directly from the artist, a commissioned work after meeting the artist in London, England in 1925 Note: The artist studied at the RA and in Paris with a Landseer scholarship.
