Notes

Deva was built in 1873 by Thomas Royden & Sons for J.B, Walmsley of Liverpool. Built of iron, she registered 806 tons gross and 761 tons net on measurements of 187.2 x 31.7 x 19.8 feet. Originally a full-rigged ship, her rig was modified in 1880 after having been sold to William Just & Co., also of Liverpool. In 1898, Deva was sold to Italian owners and renamed Checco. She ended her seafaring career as a hulk in 1915.
