Harrison Burns, American, 1940-1991- "Paramount II"; mixed technique, collage and acrylic on canvas, signed and dated February 1984 to verso, Provenance- 'Iolas-Jackson Gallery, 52 East 57th Street, New York, NY 10022', according to label to verso, 183x214cm: Harold Stevenson, b.1929- Male Erotica; oil on paper, signed and dated '72 in pencil, 75x58cm: Style of Lucio Fontana, late 20th century- Spatial Concept; primer on cut canvas, 75x50cm, (3) (part unframed) (may be subject to Droit de Suite) Note: Harrison Burns was born in North Carolina, he gained an MFA at the Rutgers University, he had gallery shows abroad and in the US including in the New York galleries Fishbach, Iolas/Jackson, and EM Donahue, he has also had work on show at the MOMA. Burns based most of his work around the television image; Paramount II presents an enlarged pixelated image of the Paramount Pictures iconic logo, it combines the physicality of the image produced on television with a similarly related subject matter, hence interconnecting subject matter and form.
