Seller Terms & Conditions

All lots consigned to Sheppard's are offered for sale without reserve unless clear instruction has been given prior to the publication of our catalogue.
By delivering goods to Sheppard's Irish Auction House for inclusion at auction each vendor acknowledges that he/she has accepted and agreed to be bound by all these conditions and that he/she has good and unencumbered title to the said goods.

Sheppard's have sole discretion of any lot in their catalogue and the date and place of sale of such lots.

The Auctioneer has 10% discretion on all agreed reserve prices.

Loss and Damage Warranty Fee:
1.5% of the Hammer Price of each lot if sold, or if unsold, 1.5% of the mid-range estimate.

If a buyer can prove to the satisfaction of Sheppard's that a lot purchased is a forgery, Sheppard's reserve the right to rescind the sale and refund to the buyer any amount paid to Sheppard's in relation to the lot prior to the payment of proceeds of sale to the seller.

The seller may withdraw a lot prior to the public viewing and publication of Sheppard's catalogue. Any lot withdrawn after public viewing or publication of catalogue will incur a fee of €50 for lotting and expenses incurred by Sheppard's in promoting the lot.

Where a lot(s) fails to sell at auction, Sheppard's shall notify the seller accordingly, such lots must be collected at the vendors' expense within a period of 7 (seven) days of such notification from the Auctioneer.

Sheppard's will no longer be held liable for any loss or damage which may occur once this time frame has been exceeded and any lot not collected within this time frame will incur storage charges as follows:
€5 per item per day

The amount payable for storage will then be deducted from the final payment due to the seller.
Any unsold lot(s) not collected within two months will revert to Sheppard's to dispose of as they deem fit.

Sheppard's shall remit the proceeds of sale to the vendor not later than 30 working days after the last date of the auction, assuming Sheppard's has received payment from the buyer. If payment has not been received by Sheppard's within this time frame we shall contact the vendor and either extend the time limit for payment by a period not exceeding 10 (ten) working days or cancel the sale.

All lots sold are subject to 15% sales commission.
Value Added Tax (VAT) at the current rate of 23% is payable on all commissions and charges.
