Harry Rein (American, 1908-1969)

Race Track. Signed "Harry Rein" in pencil l.r., titled in pencil l.c. Woodcut in brown and black on Japan paper, image size 14 3/4 x 18 in. (37.2 x 45.7 cm), unmatted, unframed.
Condition: Margins 1/2 inch or more, staining to margins (especially on the left), creases and folds to margins plus one to corner of image u.r.

Provenance: From the collection of WPA artist Maxwell Mandell, by descent to the current owner.

The sheet measures 17 1/4 x 23 1/8 and is gently (but evenly) toned. There are creases to all margin. These are more extensive to the upper margin and extend into the image u.r. The margins also have small nicks along the edges. There are several scattered fox marks.
