Unsigned, identified in partial label "..1872...von Professor Hasselhorst..."
affixed to the stretcher, partial label from "GALLERIE GSELL/Wein" on the reverse.
Oil on canvas, 14 3/8 x 10 3/4 in. (36.6 x 27.4 cm), framed.
Condition: Retouch, craquelure, surface grime.
Provenance: Purchased in 1969 from Dora Prowig, Antiquarian, Munich, Germany by Dr. Friedman, Ridgewood, New Jersey.

Condition Report

Lined, thin older retouch to the tree tops beneath frame liner, composition extends beneath frame liner, varnish inconsistencies (particularly heavy in a few areas in the u.l. quadrant), fine craquelure to the u.l. quadrant with heavy craquelure in the retouched tacking margin, previous cleaning and varnishing within the frame (as evident from the glossy and matte surfaces under raking light), surface may benefit from being cleaned out of the frame.
