Heinrich Kralik von Mayrswalden studied at the Stuttgart Academy, where his teachers included Christian Landenberger and Heinrich Altherr. He soon found a distinctive personal style, which is best classified as New Objectivity. In 1932 he showed work at the Ulm Museum at the most important exhibition devoted to the late phase of that style in Swabia.
