This prominent Austrian Jugendstil artist often collaborated with his sister's brother-in-law Joseph Urban. In addition to books, posters, calendars, menus, theater programs, furniture, screens, clocks, jewelry boxes, and other objects, he designed stage sets for Gustave Mahler at the Wiener Hofoper as well as the 60th jubilee of Emperor Franz Joseph I in 1908.
