Heinz Porep(1888 Uphusen/Baden-Baden). Blühender Baum in Frühlingslandschaft. Um 1925/30 Oil in strongly pastose painting technique on canvas. Signed lower right.72,3 x 66,3 cm (28,4 x 26,1 in). Heinz Porep, a painter and scene painter, at first studied in Munich with Heinrich Knirr, later with Albin Egger-Lienz and Walther Klemm in Weimar. After travelling to Mexico to study the art there, Porep settled in Baden-Baden. Heinz Porep's aeuvre comprises figurative work, landscapes and still lifes. The spontaneous handling and freshness of our spring landscape make it an appealing work in the German Late Impressionist tradition. [KD] In good condition, colours still fresh.
