Henry Armand Emile Burel (France, 1883-1967) Oil on Canvas "Les Vieilles Barques" (Effet de Matin). The old boats, early morning. Signed and dated 1916 lower right by the artist. Burel was a French impressionist who exhibited in Paris at the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Tuileries between 1927 and 1939. On the reverse of this painting is the original paperwork label from the Exposition at the Musee de Peintre in Roen in October 1916, featuring artists from Normandy. In carved and painted French wood frame. In frame measures 20 1/2"x16 1/2"x 1 3/4". Weight 2 pds 12 oz. PROVENANCE: A Private Paris, France / Charleston SC Estate.
