Note: Hall was a popular painter known for his images of Highland cattle. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and was a member of the North British Academy of Arts. The "NB" after the title stands for North Britain; in the 19th c. this was a notation frequently used for addresses in Scotland. Reference: ancestry.com
