given to the vendor by a fellow competitor at the Oxford Old English Game Fair, c. 1971.

'Pyle hen' was bred by H.B. Turner, Malverleys, 1925.
It won first prize at the Old English Game Fair Club Show, Oxford, 1925, third prize, 1926 and first at Shrewsbury.




Herbert Atkinson was a founder and Life President of the Oxford Game Fowl Club.
