Description

HERBERT C. HOOVER D.S. as President, 1p. 4to., Washington, Oct. 18, 1931, a printed proclamation honoring the 150th anniversary of the American victory over the British at Yorktown, Va. In part: "...Monday, October 18, 1931, be fittingly observed in universities, schools and other suitable places, to the end that patriotic lessons may be drawn from the spirit and courage and self-sacrifice which animated our forefathers...". Boldly signed by Hoover in blue ink. With a 2-cent Yorktown stamp affixed to bottom left, mounted to heavy card stock. Lightly toned at edges, and faint dampstains, otherwise very good.
