PROPERTY FROM A PRIVATE COLLECTION
Both the current and the following lot were originally owned by Algernon Talmage who had taught Fearon in St Ives following her studies under Robert H. Sterl at Dresden (1897-99) and at the Slade School (1899-1904). Talmage's daughter inherited approximately 100 paintings, including the three presented here, following the artist's death in 1939. However, after falling into financial difficulties due to alcohol dependency, she sold all of the inherited paintings to the Danks family on whose estate she lived in a caravan during this period. The present owners acquired them through the Danks family.
