Born in Tainan, Hong Tong started to paint when he was fifity. His paintings are filled with mysteries naivete and childish innocence. His first solo exhibition was held in 1976 by Press Department of US Embassy and Artists magazine, after which he soon became popular in Taiwan. Hong Tong died in 1987. His retrospective exhibition was held after his death.
