HONSA Jan 8. 6. 1876 Tisova near Vysoke Myto - 9. 9. 1937 Policka) In spring - Near Ticha Orlice Oil on cardboard, 49, 5 x 66 cm, framed, undated, signed lower left, inscribed at the back. Czech painter and graphic artist, he studied under J. Marak at the Academy of Arts in Prague. He went to France where he devoted himself to landscape painting, he travelled widely around Europe. In 1898 he became a member of Manes, Union Internationale des Beaux Arts in Paris and Kunstlerbund Hagen in Vienna. See T 1/365, V 2/482, NECVU 1/279.
