Description

Howard Ames Coon was borne on May 7, 1890 in DeRuter, New York. Mr. Coon studied art at the Rhode Island School of Design and moved to Ballardvale in 1930. He taught art and Abbott Academy. Mr. Coon's brother Raymond Coon was an accomplished pianist at taught music at Abbot Academy. Several of Howard Ames Coon's (1890-1997) watercolors hang in Memorial Hall Library, including Benjamin Abbot's Homestead Rose Cottage and Ballardvale. In 1948 the Coon family moved to Gloucester MA where he painted Seascapes.

ABSENTEE BIDS: Because of the manner in which our online system processes and transmits left bids, Ryan Auctions does not receive bid information until the exact moment of sale. If there is more than one bid for the same amount, then the first bid the auctioneer receives or see's will be the one the auctioneer accepts. There can be 2 bidders at the same amount but which ever the auctioneer accepts first will stand as the bidder for that item.

PAYMENT AND TAXES: Methods of Payments: We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Money Orders and personal checks. WE DO NOT TAKE PAYPAL PAYERS. We will hold all merchandise until a check has cleared. Payment is due no later than 4 days following the auction. If not paid within the 4 days then your credit card that you registered with will be used to process your payment.

PAYMENT DUE: Buyer shall communicate with Seller within three (3) days of the completion of the auction. Complete payment is due upon receipt of notification of a successful bid and shall be received by the Seller no later than 4 days following the auction. If not paid within the 4 days then your credit card that you registered with will be used to process your payment. Title shall pass to the Buyer once payment in full has been made. All shipping charges will be borne by the Buyer as stated below. Ryan Auctions reserves the right to hold items paid by check until the check clears. There is a handling charge of $35 for dishonored checks. The Auctioneer reserves the right to impose a storage fee of $25 per day per lot commencing on the 8th day after the auction for any property not paid for and/or removed from the premises. ALL PROPERTY STORED IS AT THE RISK OF THE PURCHASER.

SHIPPING AND PACKING: We ship to locations around the World via UPS, Fedex and others. We do have practical access to a Post Office but do not ship to P.O. Boxes. Insurance is required for all shipments and is the sole responsibility of the buyer. Shipping/Packing Costs can vary greatly for flat shipments, special needs, high value and very large items. We ship by the most secure methods possible. All items are professionally packed and do require full insurance. Buyer is fully responsible for all shipping costs and must provide a valid credit card number for the shipping company to bill.

BUYER'S PREMIUM AND TAXES: An 18% Buyer's Premium will be charged on successful bids. Plus the 5% on-line auction fee. NO SALES TAX WILL BE CHARGED as New Hampshire has no sale tax.

CONDITION: All property is sold "AS IS - WHERE IS" and all sales are final. While the Auctioneer will, to the best of his/her ability, describe the items for sale, there are no warranties, expressed or implied, that the property offered for sale is what it is described to be by the Auctioneer or the catalog. The bidder is solely responsible for determining the age, size, condition and value of the property before bidding. Neither the Auctioneer nor the Consignor will be held responsible for any descriptions of the rarity, quality, condition, size, importance, or provenance of the property, and no statement, whether oral or written, by the Auctioneer or by any representative of Ryan Auctions shall be deemed a warranty or representation regarding the property offered for sale.

CONDITION REPORTS: Prospective buyers should satisfy themselves by personal inspection as to the condition of each lot. Although condition reports may be given on request, such reports are statements of opinion only. The absence of a condition report does not imply that the property is in good condition. All dimensions are approximate. Ryan Auctions will make every reasonable effort to respond to all emails or phone calls relative to condition up until 24 hours before the sale. If there is no condition report on the web it does not necessarily mean that the item is without repair, refinish, restoration etc. It is the responsibility of the prospective purchaser to contact Ryan Auctions if they are concerned about the condition of an item beyond what is listed online.

BIDDING CONTRACT: Your bid is a legally binding contract. Upon the fall of the auctioneer's hammer, title will pass to the highest bidder, and the property is thereafter at the purchaser's sole risk and responsibility. Users must register and be approved to bid before the auction. Ryan Auctions reserves the right to deny approval for any reason. Accounts with private feedback will not be approved under any circumstances.
