款識：（一）南越貢荔。鶴谿漁隱黃山壽。（二）東山徵歌。勗初黃山壽。（三）琴操悟禪。倣萬年少筆意，山壽。（四）壽陽酣睡。甲申（1884）夏日，毘陵黃山壽寫於羊城。
鈐印：黃山壽印、勗初、黃氏勗初、山壽
註：黃山壽，原名曜，字勗初，號麗生、旭道人、鶴溪外史等。江蘇武進人。弱冠即由武進客滬，好友張鳴珂一九〇八年著《寒松閣談藝瑣錄》載，「依其戚客華亭縣（今屬松江）廨。居停張明府愛收藏，所得改七薌真跡尤夥。出令勗初臨摹，摹成裝池之，呈巡撫張文達公，公莫能辨也，由是聲譽日起」。此乃黃山壽二十歲前習藝經歷，並已於海上畫壇初展頭角。張明府逝後，黃旋投瑞茀侯方伯璋幕下。瑞茀侯，名璋，滿洲正紅旗人，一八八五年前後任兩廣鹽運使。據錢名山（1875-1944）記其兄輓黃山壽聯註解中，黃氏曾「客瑞茀侯粵東」。本幅款署「甲申」（1884），並「作於羊城」，恰畫家遊歷粵東之時。是年黃山壽三十歲，人物畫已臻成熟。所取「琴操悟禪」、「南越貢荔」、「東山徵歌」、「壽陽酣睡」，皆通俗題材，設色明妍，卻無艷俗之病。延七薌畫風，仕女開臉修長清秀，柳眉鳳眼，雲鬢、衣飾烘染刻畫&#...
