traduisiez_ le nouveau Traité de Physique de KÄMT (Ludwig Friedrich K., 1801-1867, physicien allemand, prof. à Halle et
Dorpat) et je vois que c'est de Météorologie. Veuillez bien ne pas le prendre chez M. Arago mais_ chez moi, à l'Institut. M.
ARAGO m'a assuré qu'il va hâter le Rapport de Votre Expéd.[ition], qu'il va même le donner avec le Rapp.[ort] de D'URVILLE.
Il sera donc prudent que vous ne le pressiez pas, l'ayant fait moi-même de la manière la plus parfaite_ ».
Missive vraisemblablement adressée à Charles-Frédéric MARTINS (1805-1889), botaniste et météorologiste français d'origine
allemande qui avait pris part en 1838-40 à l'expédition scientifique du Nord dirigée par le professeur Jos. Paul GAIMARD (1790-
1858) naturaliste et voyageur ayant aussi fait partie de l'expédition de l'Astrolabe.

PRE-EMPTION

In certain cases, the French State is entitled to use its right of pre-emption on works of art or private documents. This means that the state substitutes itself for the last bidder and becomes the buyer. In such a case, a representative of the French State announces the exercise of the pre-emption right during the auction and immediately after the lot has been sold, and this declaration will be recorded in the official sale record. The French State will have then fifteen (15) days to confirm the pre-emption decision. Pierre Bergé & associés will not be held responsible for any administrative decisions of the French State regarding the use of its right of pre-emption.
