Signed "HBloom" u.r., inscribed "Marsyas" on the stretcher.
Conté crayon on paper likely mounted to canvas, 59 3/4 x 38 7/8 in. (151.5 x 98.5 cm), framed.
Condition: Minor rippling to corners, not examined out of frame.

This work is reported to have been included in the Hyman Bloom travelling retrospective exhibition of 1954-55, held at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, 8 April-16 May; M.H. de Young Museum, San Francisco, 11 August-8 September; Albright Art Gallery, Buffalo, New York, 16 October-14 November; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (paired with a Jack Levine exhibition), 24 February-3 April 1955.
