This work was inspired by one of the artist's many trips to the Aran Islands. The cat is a recurring theme in the artist's oeuvre and is an animal Pollock is particularly fond of. This work, like all of the artist's bronzes, was cast in the Liberties area of Dublin by Cast Ltd. art foundry using a 'cire perdue' (lost wax) method in ceramic shell moulds. Pollock has successfully exhibited with the Royal Hibernian Academy, the Royal Ulster Academy and Oireachtas. His work can be found in a variety of high profile private collections as well as the collection of the Office of Public Works and University College Dublin, among others. Dimensions of base: 10 by 10 by 1.25ins.
