*IMPORTANT CLOCK "LA BROUILLE", Consulat, the model by F.T. MATELIN (François Timothé Matelin, 1759-1815), the dial signed DUBOIS FILS RUE ST HONORE NO 22 A PARIS (David Frédéric Dubois, maitre 1780), Paris circa 1800.
Matte and polished gilt bronze and "Vert de Mer" marble. The clock with enamel dial and 3 hands. Paris escapement striking the 1/2 hours on bell. 40x18x58 cm.

Provenance: private collection, Belgium

The pair to this clock, called "Le Raccommodement", in which the same couple are depicted kissing, was sold in the Koller November auction 1995. Lot 4027
