Irving, John (b. 1942) and Thomas Williams (1926-1990) Five Titles in Six Volumes, including The World According to Garp, New York: Dutton, 1978, second edition, signed by Irving on ffep, presentation copy, in publisher's cloth and jacket; The 158-Pound Marriage, New York: Random House, 1974, stated first edition, in publisher's cloth and dust jacket; 3 by Irving, New York: Random House, 1980, stated first edition, signed presentation copy, in publisher's binding and jacket (Irving's first three novels).
[Together with] two copies of Thomas Williams's The Hair of Harold Roux, New York: Random House, 1974, both stated first editions in dust jackets; and Whipple's Castle, New York: Random House, 1968, in publisher's cloth and jacket.
John Irving was a student of Thomas Williams at the University of New Hampshire. Williams's The Hair of Harold Roux won the National Book Award for Fiction in 1975.
