signed. Summers worked in primarily in Woodstock, NY and in St. Louis, although he painted from coast to coast. He studied at the Art Students league and the St. Louis School of Fine Art. He exhibited at the Art Students league and the St. Louis Artist Guild. He was a member of the Salmagundi Club. Summers, acting upon the suggestion of a fellow painter, Dawson-Watson, traveled west a painted this subject.
