Description

A young gentleman called Augustin de Robespierre, facing right in gold-bordered lavender-blue coat and light-blue waistcoat with embroidered floral waistcoat, frilled lace cravat, powdered wig oval, 2 1/8 in. (54 mm.) high, silver-gilt frame NOTES Augustin Bon de Robespierre (b. 1764) was a deputy at the Convention of the French Revolution as was his elder brother Maximilien. Both were executed by the guillotine on 28 July 1794.
