J. Thierry was the author of Daguerreotypie, 1847, published by Lerebours and Secretan, Paris, and by the author, Lyon. He states in his text that 'When a plate...'emerges in triumph' from its various processes, 'it is of inestimable value, and no care is too great in preserving it for the future, for its full worth to be appreciated.'
