signed and dated 'JdWit invt & f./1737' and with inscriptions 'No 307 Jacob de Wit.' and 'My Auct 1860 Sept 24 No 531 12' (on the reverse of the mount)
traces of black chalk, pen and grey ink, violet brown wash, heightened with white, pen and brown ink framing lines, watermark Strasburg lily
