Description

A group of 9 carbon prints and 11 photogravures, printed c. 1890 by James Craig Annan from the original calotype negatives by David Octavius Hill. The carbon prints on card, 5 cropped to the image and 4 on larger cards. Each inscribed in pencil by Heinrich Kühn on the reverse or in the margin. The photogravures mounted individually on stiff card, one inscribed in pencil by Heinrich Kühn on the reverse, 6 titled in pencil at the lower edges in an unknown hand. Quantity: 20

The front page from an old envelope added to the group is inscribed 'D. O. Hill' in blue crayon and 'Unverkäuflich! Pigment Kopien direkt nach den Originalnegativen, hauptsächlich von J. Craig Annan, Glasgow, hergestellt, mit dem ich persoenlich bekannt war. H.K.' in pencil by Heinrich Kühn.
