Jane Botsford Armstrong (American, b. 1921), two carved Tennessee brown marble sculptures, ca. 1970's, consisting of "Prairie Song II", depicting a singing prairie dog, initialed "JBA", mounted on a square mahogany base, figure h. 13", base h. 2-1/2", w. 7", d. 7"; and "Mij", depicting a mischievous otter, unsigned, h. 18", w. 9-1/2", d. 7-1/2". Provenance: The estates of David and Eula Wintermann. "Mij" (named by Mrs. Wintermann after Mijbil in Gavin Maxwell's book Ring of Bright Water) was the Wintermann's initial purchase of an Armstrong sculpture.
