32-1/4" x 34-3/4" overallTwo panel screen, hand painted in polychrome with court scenes in garden landscape with mountain in the background, with wide gilt borders; wood frame painted in black with patinated bronze corner fittings. Provenance: private collection, Pittsburgh, PA, acquired in Kyoto, Japan in 197, at Kaji's Antiques, certificate states: "Antique original painted 2 panel screen, around 1670, Tosa Mitsuoki".
