Notes

Elizabeth Ross was born before 1738, the daughter of William Ross, 12th Lord Ross of Halkhead and Anne Hay. She married John Boyle, 3rd Earl of Glasgow, son of John Boyle, 2nd Earl of Glasgow and Helen Morison, on 11 July 1755. She died on 17 October 1791. With her husband she had two children, George Boyle, 4th Earl of Glasgow (1765-1843) and Elizabeth Boyle (1771-1801). The present lot dates to circa 1755, the time of her marriage to John, Earl of Glasgow, when Rouquet was still working in London.
