Attractive work by the versatile Swiss artist Jeannot Schwartz, executed in dynamic brush strokes

Two sweeping brush gestures in blue and red-brown determine the composition of this lithograph. They are placed on a ground in a pale sand and are centrally superimposed by a square in delicate, transparent gray. The work is from the series ‘die andere Währung’ (the other currency), which was exhibited in 1990 in various galleries.

The lithograph in colors is dedicated and signed in pencil on verso ‘für Josef (Jeannot) Schwartz’ and stamped with the title ‘Werkgruppe „die andere Währung“’. The sheet is in very good condition. The full-sheet image measures 67.2 x 51.5 cm.

Jeannot Schwartz (b. 1956)
Jeannot Schwartz was born in 1956 in Lausanne, Switzerland. From 1979 to 1985 he studied philosophy and art history at the University of Vienna. Jeannot Schwartz now lives in Sistrans in Austria. He works in various media such as painting, sculpture and performance, and had many solo and group exhibitions in galleries and public exhibition spaces. (fea)
