Jerome Connor (1876-1943) Head of a Mourning Mother Bronze, 16cm (6_'') Provenance: From the collection of RHA President, the artist Dermod O'Brien PRHA and thence by decent from whom acquired Private Collection Dublin. There is a hand written note inside by the artist Brigid Ganly (Dermod O'Briens daughter) stating that this was one of the artist's concepts for the Lusitania Memorial obviously replacing one of the mourning fishermen, the head of whom adopts a similar pose. There is a bigger version of this piece which was in the Digby Collection (Capuchin Annual 1965)
