An early fall landscape executed with bravura impasto. The canvas is thickly built up with layers of color. A winding trail leads off through the trees to the mountains in the distance. Such was the condition of the roads (mostly unpaved) throughout much of the western United States during the early twentieth century.

Acquired by descent from the artist by the present owner

Excellent condition on original unlined canvas with no restorations. Canvas is dirty and would benefit from a light surface cleaning. Unframed.
