Many members of the Quast family were artists, including Conrad Ferdinand Quast, father of Johann. Johann was also the designer of stained glass and worked on König-grätz, the dome of Prague and the church of Reichstadt. He also managed a porcelain factory near Winterberg. Works by him are in the Neue Pinakothek, Munich.
