The present work is one of several through Frederic Amory's collection, which included Claude Monet's, Matin sur la Seine, temps net, 1897, John Singleton Copley's A Boy with a Flying Squirrel, 1765, and Childe Hassam's Charles River and Beacon Hill, c. 1892, two of which are in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston permanent collection.
