John Bonny (British, 1875-1948) View of Allhallows Church, Tottenham, from Bruce Castle Park, 1890 signed lower right "J Bonny" oil on canvas 44 x 54cm John Bonny (British, 1875-1948) Heavy Horses at Rectory Farm, White Hart Lane, Tottenham, 1890 signed lower right with initials "JB" oil on canvas 44 x 54cm a pair (2) Provenance: Private collection, Cambridgeshire John Bonny was born in 1875 in Stoke Newington, London. He left school at the age of 14 and took up paointing as a hobby; at the age of 24 he decided to paint full time from a studio at home. In 1920 he married Florence Balderton and they continued to live in Tottenham. Florence died in 1930 whereupon John Bonny moved to Finningham in Suffolk where he lived until his death in 1948.
