A Gentleman, called James Devereux, wearing brown coat with black collar, pale yellow waistcoat, white frilled chemise, stock and tie.
Gold frame, the reverse with border of blue glass surrounding gilt-mounted aperture, glazed to reveal strands of hair tied with gilt-wire and split seed pearls set on opalescent glass; together with a related memorial plaque, the tomb of mother-of-pearl, gilt-metal and seed pearls set on a painted base, two ladies weeping at either side, a young girl kneeling, an angel holding a banner above inscribed AFFECTION WEEPS HEAVEN REJOICES, the reverse with verre églomisé border with gilt inscription JAMES DEVEREUX surrounding plaited hair.
Oval, 70mm (2 3/4in) high and Circular, 40mm (1 9/16in) dia. respectively (2)
