17 1/2 x 25 1/2 inches 44.4 x 64.8 centimeters signed and on verso titled Provenance:Private Collection, Vancouver John Delisle Parker was the the dominant art critic in Vancouver in the pre-Second World War period, and wrote for the Vancouver Province, where he was known as Palette. Parker was also a painter, and had a solo show at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1937. A supporter of Emily Carr in his role as local art critic, his own work is seemingly influenced by hers.
