Description

20" x 16", unsigned, provenance. Love was an early Indiana painter. He studied with Barton Hays and Henry Mosler in Cincinnati, with Gerome in Paris, and at the National Academy of Design. He was instrumental in the formation of the Indianapolis Art Association, and exhibited in the First Quarterly Exhibition (1878). His work is in the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
