THREE MONOCHROME-GLAZED VESSELS

18th - early 19th century

Comprising a turquoise and blue-splashed globular vase,
tianqiuping, under a mottled glaze with areas of abstract blue splashes some darkening to a dark metallic tone, supported on a deeply cut clear-glazed biscuit base, 18th/19th century; a turquoise-glazed water coupe of compressed globular form with sharply sloping shoulder and short neck, the vessel fully glazed save for the the clear-glazed biscuit foot ring, 18th century; and a miniature black-glazed double-gourd vase, the glaze stopping neatly at the short spreading foot and fading to white glaze at the slightly everted rim, 18th century. globular vase: 6 1/4in (15.9cm) high
coupe: 4 3/8in (11.1cm) diam
double-gourd vase: 4 7/8in (12.4cm) high

Globular vase:Generally, in good overall condition. A few small nibbles at the foot ring as often seen in this ware.


Coupe:A short web-like bruise to the rim with an associated hairline that runs to the widest point of the body (3.5cm) and with some small glaze loss.


Gourd vase: Some air bubble pinpricks at the rim. The neck interior with a line of dirt encrustation where the white glaze ends and meets the biscuit interior.
