Lot 12: John Nesbitt (British, 1831-1904)

Oil on board, approx. 10-1/2" x 14-1/2", signed in the lower right corner, in a gilt ornate frame with oak and acorns plaster decoration and beaded outside edge, overall approx. 17-3/8" x 21-5/8". Beautiful landscape with boulders, quite river and distant mountains. Applied old labels on verso: "Glen Sherraiq Burn, Arran. John Nesbitt" and "To C. R. Fenton & Co. Ldt. 43-47 Slotre Newington Rd. London N. 16".

A few tiny chips to the paint in right, middle, and left parts of the image. The very upper right corner is damaged. Visible paint retouching in the upper part of the image. A few loses to the frame around the edges.
