John Philip Murray (b.1952) CHURCH AVENUE TOWARDS THE WATER, BLACKROCK, COUNTY CORK signed with initials and dated lower right; inscribed and signed in full on reverse oil on canvas 90 by 60cm., 35.5 by 23.75in. Exhibited: 'Water Ways', group exhibition organised by the Lavit Gallery and held in the Cork Art Society Gallery, 2005 In late 2004 a number of artists were invited by the Lavit Gallery to create works in response to the River Lee for a themed exhibition called 'Water Ways'. Murray chose a view looking towards Cork port, with a container-crane visible on the far shore.
