Description

HUNTING - an original watercolor by British Artist John Reed Dickinson (1844-1904). Signed by the artist. With a size of 14 x 10 inches and on good watercolor paper mounted on a support sheet. In very good condition (there is a small nick in the lower left corner - this will frame out easily). An immigrant to California in 1879, John Dickinson became noted for his landscapes, portraits, and hand-tinted photographs. He was born in London, England, and settled in San Francisco when he was 35 years old. He had studied art in London, Paris, and Munich, and was in New York before coming to California, exhibiting at the National Academy of Design in 1878.
