Lot 1376: John Vassos Painted Alum Abstract Design 1972

John Vassos (Greek/American, 1898-1985), modern abstract design of a mountain landscape with setting sun, enamel on aluminum; 28" x 28"; signed and dated '72 lower right. Vassos was a noted American industrial and graphic designer. In 1924 he moved to New York and opened his own studio. Vassos worked on theater designs and later in advertising and illustrations. He was also an employee of RCA for over 40 years.
