Lot 1377: John Vassos Painting on Aluminum Abstract Sailboat

John Vassos (Greek/American, 1898-1985), abstract sailboat, enamel on aluminum; 28" x 28"; signed lower left. Vassos was a noted American industrial and graphic designer. In 1924 he moved to New York and opened his own studio. Vassos worked on theater designs and later in advertising and illustrations. He was also an employee of RCA for over 40 years.
