Kingston upon Hull, Ferens Art Gallery, Festival of Britain Marine Exhibition, 1951.

On another, printed label, attached to the reverse of the picture is inscribed -'52. A Corvette. A study in oils connected with Ward's series of lithographs of naval vessels produced in the late 1840s.' This exhibition was important in that it was the first to highlight Ward's work.
