The present watercolour is comparable in subject and style to The Apple Orchard, lot 54 in the Fuller Collection sale; Christie's, London, 7 April 2000, although that drawing was dated 1899, making the present work a few years later. The young girls who appear in these works are probably the artist's daughters; he had six by a fairly late marriage.

No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 17.5% will be added to the buyer's premium, which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.
