Condition Report

(I) The canvas has been relined. Ultra-violet light reveals spots of retouching notably towards the left side of the composition and in the sky above the columns in the foreground, and an extensive area of fluorescence corresponding to the clouds. The picture is in otherwise good condition and ready to hang. Presented in a decorative gilt frame. (ii) The canvas has been strip lined. Ultra-violet light reveals some very fine scattered spots of cosmetic retouching: the picture is in otherwise very good condition and ready to hang. Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
